Shakopee, Minnesota

Luxembourgers settled Shakopee and surrounding Scott County from the late 1850s, making the Minnesota River valley one of the state’s Luxembourgish anchors. The Luxembourg Benefit Society of Shakopee was active enough to send delegates to the great 1895 Luxembourger congress in Dubuque.
