Kewaunee County, Wisconsin Luxembourg namesake Memorials & markers

The village of Luxemburg in Kewaunee County carries its founders’ homeland on the map. In 1994, for the 50th anniversary of Luxembourg’s liberation in the Second World War, the Grand Duchy presented replica bornes de la Voie de la Liberté — Liberty Road markers — to the three American towns named Luxemburg: this one, and its namesakes in Minnesota and Iowa.

An interpretive marker erected by American Legion Post 262 in 2012 tells the story of the borne and the road it commemorates, the liberation route from Normandy to Bastogne.
