Luxemburg, Minnesota

Luxemburg Township in Stearns County sits in the heart of central Minnesota’s Luxembourgish and German Catholic farm country. Its replica borne de la Voie de la Liberté — one of three gifted by the Grand Duchy in 1994 for the 50th anniversary of Luxembourg’s liberation — stands along Highway 15 by St. Wendelin Cemetery.

Together with its namesake towns in Wisconsin and Iowa, it forms a small trans-Atlantic thread: three American Luxemburgs, each holding a marker from home.
