Richard Kneip Statue (Trail of Governors), Pierre

On Pierre’s Trail of Governors stands a 2015 bronze of Richard F. Kneip, South Dakota’s governor from 1971 to 1978 and later US ambassador to Singapore. His grandfather Mathias Kneip emigrated from Munshausen, Luxembourg — a connection the Luxembourg Embassy has celebrated in its ‘Luxembourgers in the United States’ series.
