‘Ted & Ned’ Statue, University of Notre Dame

Beside the reflecting pool south of the library that bears his name stands ‘Ted & Ned’ — Lou Cella’s 2018 bronze of Fr. Theodore Hesburgh and his longtime executive vice president Fr. Edmund Joyce, a gift of the Class of 1953. Hesburgh’s Luxembourg roots (his paternal line emigrated in 1848) make the campus landmark a quiet stop on any Luxembourg-American pilgrimage.
